UPDATES - PLEASE READ Yarnbombing date at Millets has been confirmed (apologies for all the changes!) Installation will be from 4.30pm on Tuesday 4th June at Phoebe Woods (Millets Farm). If you have made any items and/ or can help with the installation - please meet outside the Farm Shop entrance at 4.30pm. If you can’t there that early, join us in Phoebe Woods (signposted and a few mins walk from there). If you can’t join for installation you can: - Drop your items at Millets any time from now. These can be left at any till in the Farm Shop and marked for the attention of Chloe in the Events Team. - Pass any items to Tarryn our next Knitwits meet - Email tarryn@drunkenknitwits.com to make a plan for collection Reminder of event: We’ve been approached by Millets Farm to ask for help with yarnbombing. They have a large woodland area called Phoebe Woods that they are hoping to attract more visitors to and also to raise money for Sobell House. They’re hoping to have decorations by 1st May if possible and have given us free reign to do whatever we like with the space. Their only suggestions so far are to include bright colours and follow a nature / farm theme if we can. Think ladybirds, butterflies, bumble bees, birds, etc.! They are hoping to wrap some of the trees in knit or crochet and have asked if we can make these detachable. Crochet granny stripe could work for this with buttons to fit through the holes and would save us having to sew them up. Knit and crochet squares could work well too and would be a great a great stash buster! They’ve asked for these to be around 20-30 inches in length and a variety of widths to fit some of the trees on site which they advise are - XL trees - 53 inches L – 50 inches M – 35 inches S – 32 inches For an extra challenge (if anyone fancies it), they would love to collect a few items to adorn their animals with. They’re expecting lambs around then and also have the following - pigs, donkeys, alpacas, goats, horses, chickens, rheas, geese. We've suggested scarves or bandanas might be easiest to attach to the donkeys or alpacas but they’re open to suggestions. With regards to yarn - they have some regular members who have already offered to donate items and will see what budget they have for purchasing more. Tarryn will then collect and distribute. If you would like to get involved, please accept the invite so we have a rough idea of how many contributors we will have. Tarryn is happy to collect items and drop them at Millets. If anyone else is happy to decorate nearer the time, she can make a plan with their Events Team. Exciting!
