THE DRUNKEN KNITIFESTO
We are the Manchester Drunken Knitwits, and we are knit-aholics. Sip by sip and stitch by stitch, we continue to pursue drunken, hand-cramping knit-thood, whereby all Knitwits have the holy grail of drunken knitting to show off to our friends: a hand-crafted item whose place, time, and method of construction cannot entirely be recalled. If you want to follow us on our path, we can show you the way...

MDK meet every Wednesday after work (from 5.30pm-ish - join whenever you can, knitwits drift in and out throughout the evening) at a different pub in central Manchester. Bring along a yarny project, order a pint, and meet some knitwits!

We meet at a different pub/bar in central Manchester each week, generally spanning from the Northern Quarter to Manchester Met. Sign up to see our events and find out where we are going to be.

We do have a small membership fee to cover our website costs so that we can communicate with you where we are each week, and so new members can find us. It's £7 per 6 months, but you only need to join once you're sure you love hanging with us, take a couple of Wednesdays to try before you buy.

Website payments are down at the moment (we are working on it!) so please send your subs to Chief Knitwit Natalie https://paypal.me/natalievja and we'll get your status updated manually. Thank you!

Your account will be disabled automatically once your trial membership expires. Please purchase a subscription to continue the knitwittery! Website payments are down at the moment (rest assured we are working on it!) so please send your £7 to Chief Knitwit Natalie (https://www.paypal.me/natalievja) and we'll get your status corrected.

If you need to extend your trial period, please contact us and we'll get you sorted!

The 'official' start time is 5:30 but that's very 'ish' - join whenever you can, knitwits drift in and out throughout the evening. Stay for as long as you like - usually there will be a good-sized group until at least 8pm - although we have been known some weeks to stay until closing...

We always meet somewhere that does food as many of us also get dinner each week. We do this on a casual 'order at your own pace' basis, not all sitting down to eat at the same time or anything like that.

Our emails have a habit of going to junk... So please check there and mark us as a 'safe sender' if that's where they have indeed been hiding!

Emails from us may come from the following addresses:

NO! The drinking is optional, but the crafting is not ;) [That being said, please do purchase something from the venue as they give us their space for free!]

All crafty endeavours are encouraged - knitting, crochet, embroidery, macrame... if you can do it in a pub, bring it along! We do ask that members do bring some sort of craft as that's the main thing we're about, but if you forget it one week we'll forgive you - do still pop along.

We super welcome crafty newbies, but we're not really set up to teach - so please come along with some basic knowledge and a project to work on and we'll offer endless encouragement and help where we can!

If the pub is dog-friendly, yes! Please check this before bringing your pooch but we'd love to meet them if the pub is happy.
